Student Support Network

UNIVERSITIES ASSOCIATION FOR LIFELONG LEARNING - STUDENT SUPPORT NETWORK


The Student Support Network has been established to facilitate discussion and professional development for all those whose work involves supporting part-time, mature students in Higher Education.
The Student Support Network aims to fulfil the following roles:
  •  forum for discussion of comparative/best practice in the field
  • dissemination of information on student support issues
  •  forum for articulating UALL ‘views’ on particular issues
  •  lobbying/representation of needs of CE students in this area (both within and outside institutions)

The Network is interested in the following areas:
  • pastoral/welfare support
  • educational advice and guidance
  • support for students with disabilities
  • study skills/IT skills support
  • financial support
  • library/learning resources support

We welcome anyone who supports part-time, mature students in Higher Education. The Network includes people who work in the following areas:
  •  academic staff with pastoral responsibilities 
  •  administrators
  •  librarians
  •  senior clerical staff (e.g. ‘front line’ staff handling enquiries)
  •  guidance workers
