Student Support Network
UNIVERSITIES ASSOCIATION FOR LIFELONG LEARNING - STUDENT SUPPORT NETWORK
The Student Support Network has been established to facilitate discussion and professional development for all those whose work involves supporting part-time, mature students in Higher Education.
The Student Support Network aims to fulfil the following roles:
- forum for discussion of comparative/best practice in the field
- dissemination of information on student support issues
- forum for articulating UALL ‘views’ on particular issues
- lobbying/representation of needs of CE students in this area (both within and outside institutions)
The Network is interested in the following areas:
- pastoral/welfare support
- educational advice and guidance
- support for students with disabilities
- study skills/IT skills support
- financial support
- library/learning resources support
We welcome anyone who supports part-time, mature students in Higher Education. The Network includes people who work in the following areas:
- academic staff with pastoral responsibilities
- administrators
- librarians
- senior clerical staff (e.g. ‘front line’ staff handling enquiries)
- guidance workers
