The crisis in part-time higher education and the mature student: Finding a way forward
This was the theme of the UALL Annual Seminar held in London on 19 November 2015. The keynote speakers were Professor Les Ebdon, Director of Fair Access (OFFA) and Professor Claire Callender, Birkbeck, University of London and UCL, Institute of Education.
In her presentation The demise of part-study in England: Who cares?, Claire Callender, gave us an invaluable insight into the origins and extent in the decline of part-time higher education. Les Ebdon addressed the same problem in his address:
