UALL Treasurer is awarded Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy

Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy Nadira Mirza, Honorary Treasurer of UALL and Director of Student Success at the University of Bradford, is now a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA). Principal Fellowship is an achievement that recognises an academics commitment and contribution to student learning as well as their strategic leadership in teaching. This is a significant accolade as there are around 74,000 Fellows in the UK and internationally of which there is a very prestigious group of under 530 who have attained the Principal Fellowship. Nadira was awarded the Fellowship for her teaching and leadership in the disciplines of access, widening participation and lifelong learning in her own institution and internationally. She was also commended for her more recent work around the student experience and in strategically working to support colleagues to benefit from her practice. The HEA plans to work closely and in partnership with Principal Fellows so that individual and collective expertise is shared with colleagues in the pursuit of teaching excellence ensuring that students are at the heart of learning and teaching.
