UCLL Leuven (Belgium) June 14 - 15 2018
For this year the joint conference will revolve around the theme Creating Relevant Learning Experiences; employers' involvement with higher education.
It will entail contributions to approaches that employers, higher education and other stakeholders take to ensure strategies, curricula that enable students and employees to learn through, for and in work environments. Approaches are already in place in the guise of work-integrated learning (WIL), work-based learning (WBL) and apprenticeships. These have started to develop relationships between work and learning and the conference will look at the skills employers now look for and how they can be incorporated into HEIs' curricular and structures.
The delegates can expect from the conference expertise and discussion to provide them - practitioners, educational managers and policy makers - the opportunity to greater understand how the challenges that learners faces can be overcome and develop the systems around the benefits of engagement with learning for and in work.
As well as this, the conference will also produce the findings of the Beehives Project, more information available here, and draw upon the expertise of the papers and presentations available at the conference.
